About Holly…
Melding a career in writing drama with over a decade of experience in education settings to create stories, characters and worlds that young actors are inspired to stage.
‘I’m passionate about making work for young people that doesn’t patronise them or dumb-down the drama they stage. My plays offer opportunities for students to invest in the characters they play and the stories they tell, not just count the number of lines they have. My works depict narratives that allow young companies to take ownership of the piece and their role within the process, bringing an audience on a journey with them. The text is always grounded in naturalistic dialogue, anchoring the action in real, human interactions regardless of the worlds the plays visit and the age of the actors.’
