Frequently asked questions.
Who are the plays suitable for?
There are plays suitable for all ages from 11+. In our ‘The Plays’ section, it details the cast size and a suggested performer age for each piece. The gender of the characters in most of the plays is either not specified or changeable so they can be used in any setting, with any cast.
How does it work?
If you like the sound of one or more of Holly’s plays, get in touch and she can offer you a 15 minute consultation session to talk you through the piece in more detail and even send you over a couple of samples of the text. Once happy that you’ve found the right play for your cast, you’ll fill out a form (asking for details such as how many performances will take place, cast size and venue) and from that information we will send you an invoice and contract to sign.
Can Holly write us a play?
Absolutely. Holly is able to take on bespoke projects. Whether you want something set in a specific historical period, exploring a certain subject or creating something for your precise cast size, she can write a play uniquely tailored for your company’s requirements. Get in touch and tell us about the play you want to stage.
Can I get help with ideas for staging?
An hour-long consultation appointment is available once you’ve chosen your play. Holly can talk you through ideas for staging, ensemble set pieces and artistic choices for your production before embarking on rehearsals so that you can feel completely prepared heading into the rehearsal room.
Can we use the script more than once?
No, the contact between the education setting and Holly allows for one run of the production (e.g - two nights and a matinee / 3 nights etc). The length of this will be agreed prior to the release of the script. If you’d like to use the script again, this will require a new contract to be created.
How much does it cost?
For existing scripts, clients will be charged a fee for use of the text (prices range between £50-£100) alongside a fee for the performance rights licence (based on number of performances, company size, venue capacity and nature of the performing company etc).
An hour long consultation with Holly to assist you with ideas for your production is £80.
Bespoke plays are costed individually depending on various factors such as cast size, running time and extent of research required.
Workshops are priced individually based on number of attendees and duration of the session.
Please note, all plays remain Holly’s intellectual property and changes can’t be made to the text, unless permission is granted on a case by case basis.
